About the role

• Applied AI Engineer at Taktile working on building AI agents for automated decisioning. Combining backend engineering with applied machine learning for real customer workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate AI agents in production.
• Design, implement and maintain agent based systems in Python using frameworks from the modern agents ecosystem.
• Create and maintain datasets that capture real world scenarios and edge cases.
• Develop backend services in Python and FastAPI, hosted on AWS.
• Contribute to internal libraries and patterns for building, evaluating and deploying agents.
• Partner with product managers, data scientists and forward deployed engineers.
• Deepen your understanding of LLM capabilities and limitations.

Requirements

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential as we operate in a remote environment requiring clear and effective communication.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with a passion for simplicity, precision and reliability.
• Curiosity about how to apply AI safely and effectively in real world products.
• Comfortable getting hands-on and truly understanding the data.
• Prior industry experience with Python backend development, or as a data scientist or ML engineer shipping models or LLM based features into production.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in software development with an emphasis on machine learning and natural language processing.
• Hands on experience with large language models using APIs like OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI or similar.
• Experience with at least one agent or orchestration framework, for example LangChain, ADK, Strands or equivalent custom tooling.
• Experience with databases and a major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation.
