Responsibilities
Apply buildings mechanical engineering principles, superior client service skills, and project management best practices to deliver healthcare projects
Successfully manage site, horizontal and vertical buildings’ projects
Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading multi-discipline resources to meet project requirements
Serve as a trainer, mentor, and resource
Hold project team members accountable for deliverables
Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce design documentation
May act as QC reviewer on projects
Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business
Develop and deliver project related client presentations
Maintain and expand current knowledge of technologies and trends
Proactively pursue additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending training
Actively participate in meetings that support studio and firm-wide goals
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
Minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills preferred
Professional Engineering license is preferred
Project Management Professional certification, LEED AP credential, ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification and familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design assist and Design-Build is preferred.
Experience managing projects, teams, and clients
Leading and managing project design and delivery teams; designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for facilities within the built environment.
Client consulting experience.
Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
Ability to manage clients, projects, fees, scope, and teams to achieve budget, schedule and deliverable objectives while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors.
Fundamental understanding of the current NFPA 72, 99, 101 and 110, Hawaii State Building Codes including the State Electrical Code and State Energy Conservation Code.
Familiarity with the FGI Guidelines as they specifically apply to healthcare facilities is welcomed.
Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related documents and documentation standards required of a technical and delivery-oriented Project Manager.
Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
Deep understanding of healthcare plumbing and medical gas systems.
Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects while maintaining the process driven requirements of healthcare facilities.
Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
Functional knowledge of BIM software; in particular, Revit MEP.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
