About the role
- Electrical Designer working with engineers to produce drawings and electrical documentation for various projects. Collaborating as part of a BIM team using Revit for design and drafting.
Responsibilities
- Design drawings based on written and verbal descriptions from design engineers
- Set up new Revit projects based on existing project templates
- Develop Electrical construction documentation under supervision of assigned engineering, design, and BIM staff utilizing primarily Revit
- Develop Electrical construction models in Revit as part of a BIM team
- Create detailed field installation drawings and fabrication drawings
- Work from both customer and firm drawings
- Perform file management functions such as posting models, downloading model updates, managing links, and Revit drafting
- Provide technical support for existing projects and field service
- Attend coordination meetings, communicate with other trades, and create/extract reports as required.
Requirements
- Two-year Technical or Associates Degree in Computer Aided Drafting/Construction Technology, Electrical Technology, or similar
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical drafting
- Working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrate knowledge or interest in MEP systems and their installation, with emphasis on Electrical installations preferred
- Experience and understanding of drawing and modeling organization, detail, and precision
