- Medical Interpreter/Translator facilitating effective communication between patients and providers at Stanford Health Care. Ensuring high-quality interpretation and translation services for diverse populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person consecutive and simultaneous interpretation as assigned
- Provide consecutive interpretation via video or phone
- Provide sight translation following standard workflow and ethical guidelines
- Provide Short Translation of texts up to 5 lines for IP or Video Medical Interpretation encounters
- Provide first draft translation or machine post-editing of AI translation
- Mentor interns and new hires
- Document encounters in electronic medical record (EMR) system
Requirements
- High School Diploma Required
- Bachelor's degree in interpretation/translation preferred
- 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience or completion of Stanford Medical Interpretation Internship
- Proficiency in English and the designated language of service
