About the role

  • Financial Counselor delivering financial planning for transitioning Soldiers and their families at SRI. Delivering one-on-one counseling and classroom instruction to ensure financial readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the Financial Planning for Transition course in accordance with Army curriculum.
  • Provide one-on-one financial counseling sessions.
  • Guide Soldiers in developing realistic post-transition budgets and financial plans.
  • Review and provide feedback on Criterion-Based Post-Transition Financial Plans.
  • Educate clients on budgeting, debt management, retirement planning, and separation-related financial risks.
  • Document counseling services in required systems.
  • Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII).

Requirements

  • National financial counseling certification (AFC®, CFP®, ChFC®, or DoD-recognized equivalent)
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, financial planning, business, counseling, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum two years of experience providing financial counseling or financial education
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Tier 1 background investigation (CAC eligibility)
