Team Lead in Revenue Accounting at S&P Global collaborating with global teams. Managing revenue system close, reconciliations, and audits for IHS OTC accounts.
Responsibilities
Works with Order to Cash teams and business units in coordinating the revenue system close, predominantly for IHS OTC accounts that will be in IHS billing platform until complete integration.
Collaborates with OTC team on lockbox, credit card receipt cash application issue resolution.
Performs the reconciliations and journal entries for the financial close, predominantly for CPQ and legacy IHS owned OTC and revenue units.
Performs balance sheet analysis related to the deferred revenue and AR accounts as assigned by the revenue accounting manager.
Updates operational policies and procedures as per the changes specific to IHS OTC accounting process.
Resolves the revenue accounting reconciliations items and provide ad-hoc support for any revenue audit requests as required by manager.
Performs back fill and support to other accountants in the team and be a backup for the Revenue Accounting Manager.
Handles extensive audits during quarter close and year end close with little or no supervision as required by the Revenue Accounting Manager.
Maintains thorough documentation of all processes in compliance with SOX requirements.
Works on process enhancements and automation efforts.
Requirements
5+ years of revenue accounting experience/other record to report functions experience required.
College level accounting degree preferred.
Experience with CPQ, SAP, Oracle R12 or Oracle Cloud or any other ERP system such as SAP are preferred.
Proficiency in Tableau, Smartview and Alteryx preferred.
Willingness to learn our new systems and legacy systems at a fast phase.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required; the ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external customers at all levels of management and staff globally.
Skills in dealing with various internal cross functional teams and management required.
High degree of accuracy and management of heavy workload; understanding of contributions to the overall end to end process; possess a global perspective of how functions impact the company.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products specifically Outlook, Excel, Access, and Word.
Must be assertive to follow up on resolving issues, ability to multi-task in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
Must be able to work independently, be accountable for processes/tasks performed, and understand when an issue should be elevated to management.
Flexible to work in shifting schedules, primarily to match the US working hours and render overtime when there is a strong business need. Must be amenable to work in US working hours.
