Methodologies Analyst at S&P Global Ratings within Corporate and Infrastructure Methodologies Group. Collaborating with SMEs to enhance criteria and models for credit ratings, contributing to impactful research.
Responsibilities
The Methodologies Group is responsible for developing, maintaining , updating, and retiring all the Criteria and Models used to assign credit ratings by S&P Global Ratings analysts worldwide.
As a Methodologies Analyst, you will be embedded within the Corporate and Infrastructure Methodologies Group to work closely with and under the direction of Criteria Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Model SMEs from the related Ratings Practice area.
The scope of work you will be exposed to includes helping develop, maintain , and update Criteria and Models, supporting the assignment and tracking of Criteria interpretations, Ratings to Principles, Criteria Borrowings and Criteria Exceptions, and assisting in the periodic Criteria review process and republication of non-material changes to Criteria.
By supporting and working under the direction of Methodologies SMEs, your contributions will enhance our ability to produce high-impact, insightful research and models and grow our relevance in an evolving market.
Requirements
1-3 years’ work experience in a relevant field;
General understanding of capital markets.
Basic understanding of database modeling/design and applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with knowledge of VBA.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field;
Masters or advanced degree
Knowledge of SQL and experience in databases such as Oracle, Sybase, or Access.
Knowledge of other programming languages, including R, Python, C++, Matlab , Financial instruments with an emphasis on credit risk modeling.
