About the role

  • Data Associate in Central Data & Insights team analyzing financial markets and generating data-driven stories. Collaborating cross-functionally to provide trend analysis and insights into various regions.

Responsibilities

  • You will provide trend analysis using S&P-collected and third-party data
  • Collaborating with other teammates, reporters, and editors on data-focused coverage
  • Educating the broader newsroom on how to use S&P's best in class data within day-to-day news coverage
  • Fact-checking data for articles
  • Addressing external publication-related/research queries
  • Working with internal partners on product improvement initiatives
  • Collaborating with various teams on ad-hoc projects
  • Articulating key credit and markets related changes, financial trends and supply chain trends.
  • Collating data and writing data-focused articles and reports on assigned regions falls under the preview of this job

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of non-financial corporates, accounting principles and practices, financial markets or reporting of financial data.
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • High level of energy, unwavering attention to quality; ability to juggle multiple priorities and complete tasks autonomously
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, data analysis, or related disciplines.
  • Prior experience in working with financial data would be an advantage.
  • Open to fresh graduates.
  • Knowledge in finance
  • Basic understanding of macroeconomics and non-financial sectors ​
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Internship experience in finance, accounting, or related discipline
  • Prior knowledge of the data journalism would be an asset
  • Understanding of various analytical tools such as SQL, Python would be a plus.
