About the role
- Engineering and Maintenance Manager at Southwire providing leadership and vision for engineering and maintenance departments in Denton Plant. Ensuring effective engineering processes and department operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily leadership and long-term vision to the Engineering and Maintenance departments for the Denton Plant.
- Responsible for hands-on development, implementation and measurement of critical engineering processes and programs in the plant and oversight of the Maintenance department.
- Manages the day-to-day operations of the Engineering department including preventative and predictive programs, reducing cost associated with breakdowns.
- Determine proper staffing, skill levels, and training, and leading the engineering team.
- Participate in planning, tracking and execution of cap-ex and plant modernization projects.
- Requires a hands-on approach with team members and equipment repairs.
- Responsible for leading the Engineering Team in process improvement and implementation of manufacturing processes that support all functions of production and lean.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Must have prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must possess strong leadership skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelors degree in industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering.
- Six Sigma experience, preferably Green or Black Belt.
