About the role

  • Leading the Turbine Engineering team for projects in Germany, France, and Greece in the renewable energy sector. Managing technical and commercial responsibilities for Wind Energy Plants.

Responsibilities

  • As Head of Turbine Engineering, you lead a Germany-wide distributed team of experts and take responsibility for all strategic, technical and operational framework conditions.
  • Your team provides technical support for our wind energy projects at the interface with wind turbine manufacturers — from turbine selection and contract negotiations to final handover to Operations after successful acceptance.
  • You ensure that your team’s work is structured, quality-assured and goal-oriented.
  • You bring technical understanding and can professionally support, assess and strategically further develop your team’s topics.
  • You actively work on topics such as CapEx/OpEx reduction, yield optimization, lifetime extension and risk mitigation — in close coordination with the turbine manufacturers.
  • You conduct regular meetings with manufacturers, stay informed about current developments and market trends, and represent Alterric’s interests competently.
  • You are the primary point of contact for management, project development and external partners.
  • You are responsible for resource management, budget and target attainment, and the continuous improvement of internal processes.
  • You actively support your team in negotiations and with complex technical or commercial challenges — always keeping the bigger picture in mind.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of technical and disciplinary leadership experience in a comparable position.
  • Deep technical understanding of wind turbines and their role in project business — you can link technical and commercial aspects and are familiar with the relevant interfaces (e.g., Civil, Electrical, Site Assessment, Procurement, Construction, Generation/Operations).
  • Strong communication skills, decisiveness and a genuine interest in developing your team professionally and personally.
  • Excellent German and English skills and confident use of analysis and planning tools (e.g., Excel, advanced planning tools; Python skills are a plus).

Benefits

  • A central role with real scope for shaping and a significant impact on the success of our projects.
  • A motivated, interdisciplinary team working together on the energy transition.
  • Flexible working models: work remotely or from one of our offices in Bremen, Aurich, Hanover, Oldenburg, Mainz, Magdeburg, Düsseldorf, Berlin or Rostock — in a way that fits your life.
  • Security and fairness: permanent employment contract, attractive compensation components and a working time window from 6:00 to 22:00 with flexible scheduling.
  • Attractive working environment: 30 days of annual leave per year, plus the 24th and 31st of December off, and extensive opportunities for mobile working.
  • Personal growth: individual development opportunities and training offerings as well as a high level of advancement and support opportunities.
  • Additional benefits: informal first-name culture, committed diversity, employee discounts via Corporate Benefits, a monthly benefits budget of €50 flexible for uses such as sports, shopping or mobility, access to BKK EWE health insurance, company pension plan with a 20% employer contribution, time-savings accounts (e.g., for sabbaticals or part-time options).
