About the role
- Privacy Manager within Sonova’s global Data Privacy team ensuring GDPR compliance. Collaborating with multiple functions to navigate privacy challenges.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, EMEA, and other global privacy laws, monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact
- Lead privacy risk assessments (DPIAs, TIAs, LIAs) and implement effective mitigation strategies
- Conduct audits and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to privacy policies and frameworks
- Draft and update privacy documentation — including policies, notices, and Data Protection Addendums (DPAs)
- Support data subject rights management and breach response processes in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Partner closely with teams such as HR, R&D, IT, and Marketing to embed privacy principles in business operations
- Stay informed on emerging privacy topics, including the implications of AI technologies on data protection
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Law, Data Protection, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 4+ years of experience in privacy management, ideally in the medical or healthcare sector
- Strong knowledge of GDPR, EMEA privacy regulations, and health data processing
- Proven ability to conduct privacy risk assessments and compliance monitoring activities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative approach
- Proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage
- Recognized privacy certifications (CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent) are highly desirable
