About the role

  • IT Engineer II providing infrastructure support in Microsoft/VMware environments for Solstice Advanced Materials. Assisting with server management, software lifecycle, and backup operations during non-U.S. hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line infrastructure support across Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, backups, antivirus, and enterprise applications during non–U.S. operational hours, ensuring timely incident response and operational continuity.
  • Execute predefined monitoring routines, troubleshooting, and foundational technical tasks across servers, backups, patching, endpoint security, and virtualized infrastructure, escalating advanced issues to senior engineering teams.
  • Support Windows Server and Active Directory operations by assisting with configuration tasks, patch validation, basic role provisioning, user/computer account management, GPO updates, AD health checks, authentication troubleshooting, and DNS/replication diagnostics.
  • Assist with enterprise software lifecycle management, including installation of approved applications, packaging and deploying updates via SCCM/Intune/WSUS, troubleshooting installation failures, supporting WSUS configuration, and preparing monthly compliance reporting.
  • Support VMware ESXi and vCenter infrastructure by monitoring host and VM alerts, assisting with firmware and lifecycle updates, documenting issues, and escalating items requiring higher-tier VMware engineering support.
  • Contribute to Veeam backup and recovery operations by monitoring daily job results, validating restore points, supporting test restores, assisting with updates, and helping configure backup and replication jobs using standardized templates.
  • Serve as the primary support contact during offshore hours, resolving Tier 1–2 issues, guiding end users on IT policies and system use, supporting RDP and certificate-based access, and assisting with DCS-related IT tasks under engineering direction.
  • Support global and site IT projects by performing assigned implementation tasks, documentation updates, validation activities, post-deployment checks, and recommending improvements to support processes and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of IT support experience in a Microsoft/VMware environment.
  • Hands on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and basic networking.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Veeam, and enterprise antivirus solutions.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently during non-U.S. business hours.
  • Experience working in a multi-site or enterprise environment.
  • Exposure to SCCM, Intune, WSUS, and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Basic understanding of firewalls, switches, VLANs, and security best practices.
  • Industry certifications (Microsoft, VMware, CompTIA, Veeam) are a plus.
