About the role

  • Designer responsible for the design and integration of thermal and acoustic insulation systems at Sogeclair. Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams for effective project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop insulation parts, assemblies, and systems (thermal and acoustic) according to customer requirements and industry standards;
  • Create 3D models and 2D drawings of components, integrating insulation, packaging/space, and environmental constraints;
  • Integrate insulating materials (thermal, acoustic, anti-vibration) into designs, taking into account performance, weight, and installation constraints;
  • Prepare, interpret, and revise technical plans, drawings, and specifications for various types of structures and insulated systems;
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (aeronautical, fire safety, thermal/acoustic performance, etc.);
  • Participate in resolving technical production issues, particularly related to the installation or performance of insulation systems;
  • Analyze change requests (ECN/ECR) and propose optimized solutions;
  • Conduct technical research on materials, processes, and innovative insulation solutions;
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure effective integration of concepts;
  • Provide technical support to production, particularly for assembly and installation issues related to insulation;
  • Participate in concept validation (design reviews, feasibility, tolerances, interfaces);
  • Write and maintain technical documentation and quality procedures;
  • Review assembly instructions and ensure proper integration of insulation solutions;
  • Contribute to research and development activities, particularly to improve thermal and acoustic performance;
  • Share technical knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of design practices;
  • Support proposal/submission activities and workload planning;
  • Understand and apply quality standard requirements (AS9100) and QMS procedures;
  • Perform any other job-related duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively;
  • Strong sense of responsibility for assigned tasks;
  • Solid analytical skills;
  • Able to manage responsibilities and adapt to workflow;
  • Demonstrated adaptability in a dynamic environment;
  • Ability to take initiative;
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience;
  • DEC (Diploma of College Studies) in Aeronautical Construction or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing sector is an asset;
  • Experience in structural insulation;
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Proficient in First Article Inspection processes;
  • Proficient in design and modeling software (CATIA V5 and 3DVia);
  • Bilingual in French and English, written and spoken.
