Data Centre Project Director overseeing delivery of large-scale data centre projects for demanding clients. Leading teams and ensuring excellence from inception to completion with strategic client engagement.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of major data centre programmes, ensuring commercial, technical, and operational excellence.
Act as the primary senior point of contact for clients, building trusted, long-term partnerships.
Provide strategic oversight of procurement, cost management, contract administration, and risk management.
Drive project governance, reporting, and performance management across multiple workstreams.
Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
Provide on-site leadership during key project phases, including regular travel to Norway.
Oversee the development and implementation of commercial strategies aligned with client objectives.
Identify, manage, and mitigate programme and commercial risks.
Challenge design and construction methodologies to deliver value engineering and innovation opportunities.
Ensure robust cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting across complex capital programmes.
Support contract negotiations and dispute resolution where required.
Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, client presentations, and market engagement.
Champion sustainability, digital innovation, and emerging technologies within the data centre environment.

Requirements
Significant experience delivering large-scale, mission-critical data centre or hyperscale infrastructure projects.
Proven track record in leading complex construction programmes (£100m+ value).
Strong commercial acumen with deep expertise in cost management, procurement, and contract strategy.
Experience operating at senior stakeholder level, managing C-suite and executive client relationships.
Strong leadership capability with experience managing high-performing, geographically diverse teams.
Excellent understanding of data centre design, construction methodologies, phasing, commissioning, and operational constraints.
Comfortable with international travel, including regular travel to Norway.
Experience in NEC, JCT, FIDIC or other major contract forms.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into executable delivery plans.
Strong negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills.
Outstanding communication skills — both written and verbal.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline (MRICS or equivalent preferred).
