About the role

  • Lead Database Administrator supporting multiple RDBMS and Snowflake Data Warehouse production. Collaborating with Fidelity Business Units and implementing data analytics strategies in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Define best practices on Snowflake & implement them by closely working with Data Architects & Product Teams
  • Maintain deep understanding of complex technologies and help business units to leverage Enterprise Snowflake as part of their data analytics strategy
  • Work with product teams, help them in designing & onboarding their warehouse data to Enterprise Datawarehouse Snowflake platform
  • Build, design, architect and implement high-volume, high-scale data analytics and machine learning Snowflake solutions in the cloud.
  • Provide technology leadership in driving large complex Snowflake implementations
  • Provide guidance on how to resolve customer-specific technical challenges & work with the snowflake vendor on resolving bugs or any new requirements
  • Tune Snowflake for better performance and optimize the utilization of both storage & processing thereby leading to cost efficiency
  • Design the monitoring requirements, automate them using python programming & shell scripting
  • Understand Data Classification (PII) defined by Information Security Office (ISO) & implement auditing measures to ensure strict controls on data access
  • Provide snowflake trainings on new features & how they can be leveraged by the product teams
  • Being a Technical SME for Snowflake platform

Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience
  • Relevant experience as Core DBA on Oracle, MS SQL Server or any other RDBMS
  • Experience on supporting Snowflake Data Warehouse production platform
  • Experience on supporting any databases on public cloud (AWS, Azure)
  • Proficient in SQL for complex querying, data transformation, and demonstrate expertise in query performance optimization
  • Deep understanding of Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, and caching.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake account-level management: User and role administration, Resource monitoring, credit usage, Cost optimization and billing insights
  • Skilled in Snowflake integration with external systems and cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob, GCP)
  • Expertise in Snowflake Secure Data Sharing setup and management
  • Experience with Snowflake replication and failover strategies across regions/accounts
  • Knowledge of network policies for securing access (IP whitelisting, private connectivity)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Optional: Exposure to BI tools like Tableau & Power BI
  • Designing & implementing High Availability, Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Providing Oncall support (12/7), working with vendor on DB issues, bugs & provide solution
