About the role

  • Principal or Technical Director managing ecology inputs to large projects at SLR Consulting. Leading a team of ecologists and collaborating across various projects in sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • liaise with other SLR technical teams on a variety of subjects including planning, landscape, hydrology, noise and air quality
  • manage and deliver ecology inputs to a range of potentially large and complex projects
  • assist relevant sector leads with development of new opportunities
  • mentor more junior staff
  • lead work on particular ecological specialisms,
  • travel across the UK and potentially overseas for client/project sites

Requirements

  • substantial ecological experience, ideally within consultancy and ideally across all sectors
  • significant project management skills and experience
  • a track record in successful business development and the ability to manage client relationships, and to win and deliver new work through both existing and new client contacts
  • relevant degree level qualification plus appropriate level of membership of CIEEM or equivalent
  • full driving licence valid in the UK
  • excellent communication and report writing skills
