About the role

  • Senior System Engineer focused on Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware systems at Skaylink. Responsible for maintaining and optimizing data center infrastructure in a collaborative IT team.

Responsibilities

  • You operate, maintain and further develop Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere/ESXi clusters.
  • You plan and implement high-availability solutions, live migrations and vMotion.
  • You analyze capacity and performance (CPU, RAM, storage, network) and optimize the platforms.
  • You perform maintenance, patches and upgrades and support migrations and hardware refreshes.
  • You analyze incidents at the hypervisor level and resolve them sustainably.
  • You create and maintain documentation, standards and runbooks.
  • You work closely with adjacent infrastructure teams.

Requirements

  • You have solid experience with Microsoft Hyper-V (Cluster, CSV, Live Migration, Replica) and Windows Server.
  • You bring very good knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi (vCenter, HA/DRS, Storage Policies, vMotion).
  • You understand datacenter architectures including SAN, storage, network (VLAN, MTU, LACP) and backup concepts.
  • You use PowerShell confidently, e.g., for Hyper-V, Failover Cluster or PowerCLI.
  • You work in a structured, analytical manner and remain solution-oriented even during complex incidents.
  • Bonus points for experience with Proxmox, Xen/XCP-ng, automation, monitoring, Veeam, Linux or relevant certifications (e.g., VMware VCP, Proxmox or Xen).
