About the role

• Senior System Engineer specializing in Backup & Monitoring for critical systems. Ensuring security and availability of IT infrastructure through Veeam and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• You operate, maintain and further develop our backup platforms with Veeam as well as cloud solutions such as AvePoint and Veeam DataCloud.
• You ensure recoverability through regular restore and disaster recovery (DR) tests.
• You are responsible for monitoring and alerting with PRTG (sensors, thresholds, dashboards).
• You analyze and resolve incidents in the backup and monitoring environment in a sustainable manner.
• You automate and optimize processes using PowerShell and APIs.
• You create and maintain documentation, standards and runbooks.
• You implement security and compliance requirements (e.g. 3-2-1 rule, immutable backups, offsite strategies).
• You work closely with internal teams, customers and external partners.

Requirements

• You have solid experience with Veeam Backup & Replication (jobs, replication, SureBackup, Scale-Out Repositories).
• You are familiar with cloud, tape and immutable storage solutions (e.g. S3, Wasabi, Azure).
• You have very good knowledge of PRTG Network Monitor (custom sensors, SNMP, WMI, alerts, maps).
• You have solid knowledge of Windows Server and VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
• You use PowerShell confidently for automation and integrations.
• You understand datacenter fundamentals (storage, networking, security) and work in a structured and reliable way.
