About the role

  • Senior Technical Architect at SiXworks leading technology design and architecture while mentoring teams. Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver secure digital technology solutions in highly secure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and architecture of systems and platforms.
  • Collaborate with customers, management and stakeholders to define technical requirements and align solutions with the wider business, where appropriate.
  • Review and guide the development of new features and innovations, ensuring they align with the overall system architecture and technical standards.
  • Identify and implement best practices in secure computing principles, such as SBD standards, design patterns, and testing approaches.
  • Make decisions on technical stack, tooling and product selection based on project requirements and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members, helping them grow technically and professionally.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality.
  • Manage risks and proactively address challenges that may impact the project deliverables.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, customers and SLT, where required.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Industry standard software and hardware.
  • VMware, Microsoft Server Products, ASH, Elastic, backup technologies, PKI, encryption technologies, Linux, switching, routing and firewalling across multiple product stacks (Cisco, Juniper, Mellanox)
  • Familiarity with: Docker & Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, Horizon, HPC, Horizion VDI (Omnissa), Browsedown/Browseacross products, DevOps tooling and techniques.
  • Proven experience leading a technical team or serving as a technical mentor.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
