Responsibilities
Support the Engineering Manager in organizing this competency across the horizontal domain, structuring strategy and drivers and driving their implementation with teams together with other Chapter Leads and Specialists of the horizontal;
Lead strategies to attract and develop software engineering professionals (1:1s, Individual Development Plans, hiring/termination);
Within the vertical you are assigned to, act as a leader supporting product leadership in structuring teams and establishing the technical foundation for proper product operation;
Perform people management and development activities;
Support horizontal governance to ensure processes, tools and capacity are adequate for developers to work with verticals and deliver high-quality product releases;
Lead software engineering discussions with leaders of other technical horizontals, seeking to understand business strategy and product roadmaps, ensuring delivery progress through the established drivers;
Pair with GPMs and PMs to understand the main business challenges;
Promote adoption of new technologies aligned with the architectural model to solve business problems;
Connect with other technology areas to enable business demands and requirements;
