About the role

• Manager, UNIX Technology overseeing UNIX administration functions for SHAZAM. Leading, mentoring, and developing the UNIX Technology Team while ensuring a stable production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and evaluate team members to achieve departmental goals
• Provide guidance on policies, procedures, priorities, and technical issues to support staff effectiveness
• Monitor team performance trends and ensure complex projects are properly planned, reviewed, and budgeted
• Manage departmental budgeting, staffing needs, and incident‑reporting procedures
• Ensure strong security and compliance practices (including PCI) and maintain effective monitoring and escalation for all critical UNIX systems
• Maintain adequate staffing and coverage to support customer and production needs

Requirements

• 3 years experience directly managing teams and personnel
• 5 years of hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux environments
• Strong working knowledge of system administration concepts and UNIX/Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of industry standard UNIX hardware platforms preferred
• Knowledge of industry standard SAN and Virtualization preferred
• Knowledge of industry best practices and current Internet technologies preferred
• Strong knowledge of IT security best practices
• Proficient in MS Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
