About the role
- Spanish Medical Interpreter conducting medical interpreting for staff and patients at ProHealth Care. Assisting in understanding information conveyed and ensuring effective communication in healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Conducts medical and general interpreting for staff, patients and their families
- Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed
- Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards
- May be required to translate written documents
- Perform a variety of interpretation and coordination services to assist non-English speaking patients, the deaf and hearing-impaired patients receiving care within the ProHealth Care system
Requirements
- Ability to write and speak well English and Spanish
- Able to function independently
- Technical Diploma for Medical Interpreter, from an accredited institution preferred
