About the role
- Lead Software Engineer managing cloud and on-premises development for Seqera's platform enabling scientific breakthroughs. Collaborate with engineers and product teams to enhance user satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- You will lead a team of highly talented engineers who design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code across our full software stack.
- Engage extensively with your product team and cross-functionally. This involves interpreting and integrating customer feedback into the development cycle to ensure our products not only meet but exceed user expectations
- You will collaborate with your fellow engineers to develop the best engineering practices. In short, be an active member of the organization:
- Improving processes
- Documenting and creating onboarding artifacts
- Helping with hiring, identifying and prioritize accordingly the technical backlog accordingly
- Generating a valuable impact on the engineering culture in Seqera
Requirements
- With a strong foundational knowledge in software engineering, you have experience in both front-end and back-end development, and are able to ramp up quickly on new frameworks and technologies.
- You have experience in writing optimized, well-tested, and secure code in both front-end and back-end settings. This includes proficiency in implementing efficient algorithms, using best practices in coding standards, and adhering to security measures to protect data integrity and prevent vulnerabilities.
- Have proven experience designing, modeling, and operating database systems. You are able to guide data modeling decisions, schema evolution, and performance trade-offs as the product scales.
- Have proven experience in API Design and Best Practices: you should handle requests from a set of different clients and products from the Seqera Ecosystem and from our Enterprise use cases
- Have worked on cloud architectures and cloud application deployments: you should have worked with at least one of the major cloud providers and have built distributed architecture on top of its service offering
- You are familiar with container technologies and orchestration solutions such as Kubernetes and/or Docker Compose
