About the role
- Full-Stack Software Engineer designing and maintaining customer engagement solutions at Old Mutual's Social Platforms team. Involve in messaging integrations and API security best practices.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain customer engagement solutions within Old Mutual’s Social Platforms team (e.g., WhatsApp and related messaging services)
- Build UI, APIs and services using C#/.NET and PHP
- Implement and support WhatsApp/messaging integrations (Meta/CPaaS)
- Apply API security best practices
- Contribute to message-based/event-driven patterns
- Implement logs/metrics/traces, dashboards and alerts
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates
- Build unit/integration/regression tests, automate testing in pipelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in software engineering delivering production systems
- Strong C#/.NET and/or PHP backend experience
- Database experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MongoDB); platform/database design beneficial
- Strong understanding of API security/compliance and engineering best practices
- Experience with monitoring/observability and CI/CD
- Messaging/event-driven and WhatsApp/CPaaS exposure advantageous
- Exposure to LLMs/ML and agent configuration/management advantageous
