- Formulate engineered estimates and budgets for clients.
- Interface with Account Managers, Support Services, Implementation Coordinators, Project Managers, and Proposal Support Department.
- Interface with Customers, Manufacturer's Representatives, Manufacturer's Technical staff, Distribution Suppliers, and Supply Vendors.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop win strategies.
- Work with fellow application engineers providing guidance and design aid.
- Develop project requirements from interviews, customer provided scope of work, site surveys, specification, pricing sheets, and drawing reviews.
- Provide detailed equipment lists, electrical requirements, installation requirements, and costing for turn-key security system solutions.
- Configure and quote proprietary Prefabrication of applicable access control, CCTV, and other systems.
- Product selection and application to ensure right product is used in right application.
- Estimate installation costs in conjunction with Implementation Operations, Service Operations, Internal Labor, and External Labor.
- Support the RFI, RFP, RFQ, and RFM&S process as needed.
- Review architectural, electrical, telecommunication, security engineering floor plans and interconnect and closet layout drawings.
- Work with project managers and design engineers for creating change orders on existing projects.
- Manage assigned projects and maintain deadlines.
- Build and maintain a good relationship with coworkers, suppliers, and manufacturers.
- Create a detailed list of clarifications, exclusions, and compliance on a per project basis.
- Knowledge of construction schedules, project meetings, and how they pertain and impact the project.
Requirements
- 5-7 Years
- BA Business/ BS Engineering/MS Engineering
- Experience in the appropriate field may be substituted for educational background
- Thorough understanding of electronic security systems, their individual parts, and the onsite labor necessary to complete an installation.
- Ability to read and understand written specifications, drawings and controlling documents.
- Computer skills to include: MS Office, Acrobat, Visio, DWG Writer, Big Machines, Sales Force dot com
- Good communication skills
- Ability to procure subcontractor pricing
- Ability to level bids from multiple subcontractors
- Excellent working knowledge of construction industry conventions
