About the role

• Senior Software Quality Engineer leading quality efforts on a large back-office platform at Securian Financial. Owners of testing strategy across a data-centric ecosystem with modern tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver test automation within agile teams; ensure code quality, reusability, and maintainability through reviews, standards, and best practices.
• Create and maintain Xray test cases to verify and validate requirements.
• Leverage Microsoft Copilot to accelerate test case creation, script development, and test data generation.
• Validate AI-generated artifacts for accuracy and business alignment.
• Promote practices that advance Continuous Delivery and Continuous Improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shift quality efforts lower in the test pyramid.
• Provide metrics to establish baselines and track quality and efficiency improvements.
• Lead efforts to define and articulate testing strategy for the project.
• Coach and provide technical leadership to peer QE team members.

Requirements

• Experience with QE languages, frameworks, and tools: TypeScript or JavaScript, Python, JSON; Vitest, GitHub/GitHub Actions, Jira/Xray.
• Advanced SQL experience for research and analysis.
• Ability to translate business requirements into test strategy, test cases, and Agile task estimates.
• Experience developing and executing manual and automated test scripts.
• Strong collaboration skills with a one-team mindset.
• Strong communication skills: understanding requirements, articulating test approach, willingness to ask questions.
• Experience coaching teams on quality concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management and prioritization.
