About the role

  • Operations Manager leading a team in payroll services for clients at SD Worx. Ensure compliance and quality in managed services while fostering team development and client relations.

Responsibilities

  • As an Operations Manager, you will be part of the Managed Services division based in Bayonne and will have the following responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of Payroll Administrators: recruitment, onboarding, absence management, performance reviews, internal mobility within the MS division, etc.;
  • Organize your team’s workload and ensure each payroll administrator has a designated backup;
  • Propose objectives, monitor their achievement and produce activity reports for your team;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable rules and agreements;
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing your teams’ skills, regulatory knowledge, and mastery of processes and tools;
  • Relay upward and downward communication to the teams;
  • Manage a client portfolio and maintain day-to-day client relationships;
  • Participate in the monthly production committee together with the Payroll Administrator(s);
  • Run the steering committee—if established—and follow up on client requests arising from it;
  • Prepare quotes for clients within your scope;
  • Ensure that client requests do not exceed the contract terms and therefore the responsibilities of the Payroll Administrator;
  • Ensure payroll compliance and review payroll items only at the request of the Payroll Administrator (e.g., STC, RC…);
  • Contribute to improvements of information systems (identify and escalate internal client needs) and act as a liaison with other departments;
  • Propose and implement KPIs, for example to monitor service quality;
  • Verify that internal reporting is compliant;
  • Ensure requests to other departments are appropriate and track ticketing, especially for sensitive issues.

Requirements

  • You have 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Payroll Administrator (desired)
  • You are familiar with employment and payroll legislation and legal payroll constraints
  • You demonstrate strong command of payroll tools and processes
  • You are rigorous, reliable and maintain confidentiality in this sensitive area
  • You are attentive, pedagogical and possess strong interpersonal skills—essential qualities for managing and motivating a team
  • You have a strong sense of responsibility
  • You have good relational skills with colleagues, clients and other departments
  • You are objective, impartial and consistent in your approach and actions
  • English language skills are a highly appreciated plus in our European company context.
