Responsibilities
- Support in the configuration, deployment and monitoring of firewalls (FortiGate, Sophos, SonicWall)
- Monitoring of firewall logs, alerts and security events; escalation of threats when necessary
- Performing routine firewall policy updates, VPN setups, object/group changes and rule audits
- Assisting with troubleshooting of Site-to-Site and SSL VPN connections
- Documenting configurations, change requests and standard operating procedures
- Participating in firmware updates and basic maintenance tasks according to change management processes
- Collaborating with Senior Network and Security Engineers on security hardening and best practices
- Tier-1/2 support for internal teams on network-related issues
Requirements
- Basic understanding of networking technologies (TCP/IP, subnets, routing, VLANs, NAT)
- Initial experience with firewalls or security appliances – Fortinet experience is an advantage
- Motivation to build expertise in Fortinet technologies
- Fortinet NSE 1-2 or actively preparing for NSE 3+ is a plus
- Experience with Linux or Windows administration is desirable
- Good documentation and communication skills
- Ability to follow processes and quickly adapt to a dynamic environment
