About the role
- Manage and maintain Windows/Linux servers and Hyper-V virtualization, monitoring, backups, and security. Provide 1st/2nd-level support, troubleshooting, and documentation using Atlassian Confluence and Jira.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the server infrastructure (Windows/Linux)
- Administer and build virtualization environments based on Microsoft Windows Hyper-V Server
- Monitor system performance and server utilization
- Ensure availability and reliability of the overall system landscape
- Maintain monitoring systems such as PRTG, SmokePing, CheckMK
- Oversee regular system backups (VEEAM) and perform recovery/restore tests
- Implement security measures to protect systems and data
- Troubleshoot and assist the team with diagnostics
- Participate in 1st- and 2nd-level support
- Document system adjustments and changes in Atlassian Confluence
- Track project progress in our Atlassian Jira ticketing system
Requirements
- Degree in a STEM subject (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering) or vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker) (m/f/d)
- Several years of experience in server and system administration desirable
- Solid knowledge of administering Windows environments
- Experience with Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization solutions
- Knowledge of subnetting as well as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
- Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills, structured working style, and analytical thinking
- Good communication and team skills
- Fluent German language skills and good English skills
