About the role

  • Assistant General Counsel at San Diego International Airport advising on complex legal and governance matters. Overseeing litigation and guiding major infrastructure initiatives in public governance context.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to the Authority’s General Counsel, Board of Directors, and executive leadership
  • Oversee the work of Associate General Counsels, paralegal, and administrative staff
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues, delivering clear legal opinions
  • Draft and negotiate contracts and legal instruments
  • Manage or represent the Authority in civil litigation and claims matters
  • Provide legal guidance on significant organizational initiatives and capital improvement projects
  • Track legislative and regulatory developments

Requirements

  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the practice of law
  • Graduation with a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Current membership in good standing in the State Bar of California
  • Experience practicing municipal law or airport/aviation law preferred
