About the role

  • Community Ministries Director overseeing Community and Family Services programs for The Salvation Army. Leadership role in planning, organizing, and reporting on service effectiveness and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, and give oversight to Community and Family Services facilities and programs
  • Provide oversight and leadership to relevant programs and special events
  • Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of a short-term and long-range strategic community relations plan
  • Direct the leadership and coordination of the volunteer program for local Community and Family Services
  • Prepare and submit reports, proposals, program evaluations, and/or business plans as requested to Senior Leaders
  • Ensure compliance with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, applicable federal and provincial legislation, and best practices

Requirements

  • Completion of a formal post-secondary/college/University program of three academic years in a related field
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to provide or willingness to obtain a First Aid/CPR Certification and Non-violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention Certifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience, including prior related team lead/supervisory experience
  • Experience working with children and youth and community and social services programs
  • Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite
