Analyzing inventory transactions and resolving related issues for Sally Beauty. Responsible for month-end close activities and providing audit support.
Responsibilities
Track, analyze and monitor inventory activity, transactions and adjustments.
Identify unusual adjustments, escalate and pursue resolution, working with different departments and functions.
Take the initiative to propose corrections, track and document all issues, and play a key role in driving root cause analysis and ultimate resolution.
Month-end close responsibilities, including pre- and post-close tasks: journal entry preparation, report generation, and other duties as assigned.
Preparation of account reconciliations according to company and departmental policy.
Provide information to internal and external auditors.
Provide assistance in special projects and management requests as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or related field, preferred
Accounting experience resulting in the ability to understand inventory process flows and impact on the general ledger
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Previous experience in month-end close processes
Experience within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment desired
Working knowledge of and experience with SQL highly desirable
Some travel may be required, up to 5%
