About the role

  • Senior Accountant supporting fixed asset accounting and month-end close activities at nVent, a global electrical solutions provider. Collaborating with finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions, including recurring journal entries, month-end account reconciliations, and GRIR (Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt) reconciliation
  • Research and analyze general ledger account variances to support financial accuracy and insight
  • Manage the Fixed Asset process for the site including CER, oversee fixed asset accounting, and generate reports for users
  • Lead inventory reconciliations and inventory count processes, including tracking open purchase orders, conducting monthly inventory reporting, and supporting materials forecasting
  • Provide proactive analysis and support to the finance team, including KPI and shipment reporting (BOL tracking and creation), ad hoc data requests, and project work
  • Maintain SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance documentation, support ongoing SOX compliance initiatives, and provide required materials for internal and external audits
  • Collaborate within the accounting center to support team work load and ensure timely, accurate completion of tasks

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Experience with Oracle and/or OneStream is helpful
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to present information and respond to questions from individuals at all levels of our multi-faceted organization
  • A collaborative teammate and self-starter who is looking to grow professionally
  • Ability to travel quarterly to our Millington, MD location (applicable to candidates hired at alternate locations)
