About the role

  • AI Engineer at Safran.AI focusing on deep learning for anomaly detection in industrial data. Collaborating on advanced algorithms in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • The AI department at Safran.AI builds AI detectors: algorithms containing deep learning models whose outputs allow detection of observables or signals of interest within complex input data.
  • You will join the AI Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team working on the development of anomaly detection algorithms for industrial parts.
  • Within your team, you will contribute to one or more projects aimed at developing or improving a specific algorithm on varied industrial data (ultrasound, X‑ray, tomography, visible optical imaging, etc.).
  • To produce detectors, the team relies on an internal tool stack that industrializes the work of Deep Learning Scientists.
  • You will use our internal AI framework and contribute to its improvement.

Requirements

  • You have a background in Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a similar field.
  • A PhD in AI or Computer Vision is a plus.
  • You have at least 6 years of professional experience in Machine Learning / Deep Learning.
  • You have a strong understanding of deep learning techniques and have applied them to image data.
  • Specialized skills in any of the following are a plus: signal processing, computer vision, image processing, image acquisition systems, and camera calibration.
  • You have strong Python programming skills, particularly for production deployment.
  • Methodologically, you have experience working in agile environments without being dogmatic about their application.
  • You are rigorous, creative, and meticulous.
  • You have strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to take a step back when evaluating results.
  • You have good teamwork abilities and strong communication skills.
  • You are pragmatic and results-oriented.
