About the role

• Senior Backend Software Engineer joining Safran.AI's AI-IMINT team developing detection algorithms for military interest objects. Working with deep learning scientists in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• You will join the AI-IMINT (IMagery INTelligence) team, which is responsible for developing AI algorithms for the detection and classification of objects of military interest in satellite imagery (optical, infrared, SAR, etc.).
• Within the team, you will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, and maintenance of part of our internal tools intended for deep learning scientists.
• Your mission will also include:
• → Establishing processes that enable proactive, continuous maintenance of the codebase
• → Helping to raise the software engineering skills of the team's data scientists
• → Contributing to architectural discussions on integrating our detectors into the final solutions used by the client
• → Participating in deploying our stack in a classified environment.

Requirements

• You have at least 5 years of back-end development experience in Python.
• You have excellent organizational skills, are autonomous, and proactive in proposing improvements.
• You have a solid understanding of DevOps-related tools (CI/CD, monitoring, logging, configuration management, ...).
• You are pedagogical and enjoy coaching colleagues to help Deep Learning Scientists improve their development practices.
• Knowledge of ML engineering and MLOps is a plus.
