Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head of Finance – Operations to deliver business advice
- Coordinated management of rates and government accounting impacting profitability and competitiveness
- Owning senior leadership team relationships and output of a team responsible for rates submissions
- Developing and calculating estimated and actual overhead and G&A rates
- Driving collaboration with Business Programme Finance to maximize R&D recoverability
- Rates Management: single point of contact for rates analysis/reporting/queries
- Developing and managing key relationships to deliver outcomes
- Providing recovery forecasts/budgets and detailed analysis for planning cycles
- Managing net recovery what-if scenarios
Requirements
- Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA Finance Manager with a defence background
- Relevant years' experience in a similar role
- Excellent people manager with direct and indirect influencing skills
- Experience of managing teams effectively
- Excellent presentational skills
- Comfortable with data and detail while extracting high level messages
- Experience of presenting to senior audiences
- Ability to work on concurrent issues/problems with multiple senior stakeholders under time pressure
- Strong communicator and networker with a thirst for understanding the business model
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working in a programme environment / knowledge of accounting for long term contracts
- Knowledge of the Defence Reform Act and Federal Acquisition Regulations
- Experience with proposal processes such as RLPM/IPDS
- Knowledge of MoD procurement methodologies & DEFCONs
- Understanding of Project reporting including EACs & EVMS
