About the role

  • Associate Director driving mergers and acquisitions for RTX Corporation, overseeing financial modeling and strategic planning. Collaborating with business units to execute strategic transactions with a focus on portfolio optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the M&A process including financial modeling, developing strategic rationale, valuation, transaction execution, due diligence execution, and presentation development
  • Support integration or separation planning activities for businesses undergoing acquisition or divestiture
  • Analyze financial statements and develop valuation analyses, including discounted cashflow and comparable company analyses
  • Partner closely with business unit and functional leaders to identify and prioritize acquisition and divestiture opportunities aligned with strategic objectives
  • Prepare materials for stakeholders including the Executive and Senior Leadership Team
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver timely execution and mitigate operational or financial risks
  • Contribute to enterprise and BU strategy development, with a focus on portfolio optimization
  • Mentor and develop junior team members

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and a minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • Several years' transactional experience (e.g., top-tier investment bank, corporate development role, consulting, VC)
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with financial data services (e.g., S&P Capital IQ, Factset, Bloomberg)
  • Experience in aerospace & defense
