About the role

  • Intellectual Property Counsel collaborating with engineers and legal teams at Pratt & Whitney. Developing and executing IP strategies for innovative technology across global aerospace.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients in developing and executing intellectual property strategies for key technologies and programs
  • Negotiating and advising regarding an array of transactions with customers, suppliers, partners and license counterparties, and supporting mergers and acquisitions
  • Overseeing and managing patent preparation and prosecution
  • Monitoring, assessing and mitigating risk regarding third-party patents and applications
  • Counseling, dispute resolution, and representing the company in disputes involving intellectual property in both administrative and other settings
  • Driving IP engagement within the business

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution and undergraduate degree in engineering or technical field
  • 10+ years of professional experience – including 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
  • Currently admitted and in good standing with at least one state bar
  • Currently admitted or eligible for U.S. Patent bar
  • Eligible for a U.S. Security Clearance
