Corporate Accountant supporting Corporate Finance at RioCan by processing financial adjustments and reconciliations. Engaging in internal and external reporting and audits for financial accuracy.
Responsibilities
Responsible for various corporate accounting areas, such as but not limited to; eliminations, consolidations, fee generation, overhead cap, GST / HST, bank reconciliations and / or cash distribution.
Review daily transactions, month end schedules and reconciliations.
Respond to transactional accounting questions and issues.
Prepare and record transactions to journals and General Ledger.
Prepare legal entity financial statements.
Prepare internal and external reports.
Resolve accounting discrepancies.
Support preparation and coordination of internal / external audits.
Liaise with other departments in regards to accounting matters.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual internal / external reporting.
Ad-hoc analysis / Projects as assigned.
Requirements
Completion of College Diploma or Certificate Program in Accounting or Finance
CPA designation or actively pursuing CPA designationMinimum 3 years previous relevant experience
Knowledge of current accounting practices and principles (IFRS & GAAP)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs with Advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Proven organizational skills, time management skills and ability to work with other departments
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Initiative and the ability to work independently and also as part of a team
Experience with Yardi is an asset
