Staff Software Engineer developing industry-defining accounting and finance software at Rillet. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive technical strategy and deliver robust applications.

Responsibilities

Lead technical decisions across the infrastructure and software stack, driving architectural discussions and setting engineering standards
Shape Rillet's technical strategy and roadmap for years to come, identifying opportunities for innovation and scalability
Partner with product managers, designers, and finance experts to influence product direction, advocate for technical trade-offs, and balance business needs with engineering excellence
Translating user insights into technical requirements and advocating for the customer perspective in engineering decisions
Establish and champion continuous delivery practices, mentoring team members on deployment strategies and ensuring reliable, frequent releases
Lead by example in test-driven development and automation, building robust testing frameworks and fostering a quality-first culture
Own production reliability and operational excellence, designing monitoring solutions, leading incident response, and implementing proactive measures to ensure system stability
Mentor engineers on the team, conducting code reviews, and raising the technical bar across the organization

8+ years of software engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, including a proven track record leading large-scale projects and architecting scalable systems
Expertise in both object-oriented and functional programming approaches
Ability to find practical solutions to real user problems without compromising on quality
Thrive independently and collaboratively within a small team, with a passion for continuous learning and knowledge sharing
Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly
