About the role

  • Influence the development and drive the formalization of the long-term strategic positioning of the overall region with an emphasis on key markets and business capabilities.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process for the region, integrating local market plans with the regional plan and objectives.
  • Represent the region in the alignment of strategies across functions and global organizations.
  • Serve as a trusted partner and advisor by providing thought leadership and strategic insights on all matters related to the development of annual plans & business strategies.
  • Proactively monitor and identify trends in the external environment that create threats or opportunities to our long-term strategy, assess the impact to RGA, and develop recommended responses for executive leadership to consider.
  • Responsible for building infrastructure, capability, and processes that anticipate issues and support the timely delivery of solutions with high-impact results.
  • Provide innovative thinking and solutions with the potential to implement impactful change through the understanding, participation and ownership by key stakeholders.
  • Support business execution by identifying needs and areas of opportunity while making recommendations that could lead to new businesses and/or acquisitions.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) preferred
  • 15+ Years experience in insurance/reinsurance field interfacing with and influencing senior /executives
  • 7+ Years strategy, management consulting or innovation experience
  • Experience in financial services, the insurance sector, or a premier strategy consulting firm
  • Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and operational
  • Forward-thinking and conceptual with the ability to execute on multiple projects concurrently
  • Lead and develop the process around strategic plan metrics and measuring strategic performance
  • Effectively make presentations (both in writing and in person) to Senior Management
  • Engage in internal consulting activities; Challenge APAC market leaders to drive shareholder value
  • Highly collaborative with strong facilitation and listening skills
  • Working knowledge of pricing, valuation, and financial reporting across a broad spectrum of coverage and APAC countries
  • Experience of managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Proactive self-starter with attention to detail and ability to handle diverse tasks
  • Preference for transactional based workload and a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced level of change management skills.
  • Ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines.
  • Advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers to resolve issues/problems.
