About the role

  • Underwriting Assistant providing administrative and operational support to underwriters in a fast-growing commercial insurance company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate complex policy changes and verify supporting documents.
  • Assist specialized business development underwriters with file management.
  • Prepare risk summaries and perform preliminary triage of files.
  • Actively participate in user testing and in improving tools.
  • Monitor trends in broker submissions.
  • Ensure data integrity and file compliance.
  • Support internal audits.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an underwriting assistant
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bilingual (English/French), both written and verbal, to support underwriters and brokers across Canada
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
  • Adaptability and proactivity
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility
