Responsibilities
- Global responsibility and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the procurement of technically complex components
- Ongoing analysis of global sourcing markets to derive opportunities and risks for the procurement strategy
- Identification, qualification and development of suppliers and building a strong portfolio of preferred suppliers
- Development and implementation of a global commodity strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Identification of process optimization potential and implementation of measures to realize cost savings
- Execution of global tenders, preparation of benchmark analyses, as well as costing and negotiation of contracts
- Definition of objectives and budget for the commodity group and ensuring target achievement
- Close cooperation with supplier quality to continuously improve delivery performance and quality
- Development and implementation of a robust risk management approach for the commodity group
Requirements
- Completed technical or business degree, e.g., Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- Several years of experience in purchasing commodity groups such as forged parts in a mechanical engineering environment
- Strong technical understanding as well as excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Experience in leading international teams in a functional capacity and in implementing change processes
- Solution-oriented handling of conflicts and consistent pursuit of goals
- Effective team player even under high workload and in stressful situations
- Openness to intercultural cooperation and global work
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
- Business-fluent English skills; additional languages are an advantage
