About the role

  • Global Commodity Manager at RENK Group overseeing procurement of technically complex components. Developing global sourcing strategies with cross-functional teams for cost reduction.

Responsibilities

  • Global responsibility and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the procurement of technically complex components
  • Ongoing analysis of global sourcing markets to derive opportunities and risks for the procurement strategy
  • Identification, qualification and development of suppliers and building a strong portfolio of preferred suppliers
  • Development and implementation of a global commodity strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Identification of process optimization potential and implementation of measures to realize cost savings
  • Execution of global tenders, preparation of benchmark analyses, as well as costing and negotiation of contracts
  • Definition of objectives and budget for the commodity group and ensuring target achievement
  • Close cooperation with supplier quality to continuously improve delivery performance and quality
  • Development and implementation of a robust risk management approach for the commodity group

Requirements

  • Completed technical or business degree, e.g., Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Several years of experience in purchasing commodity groups such as forged parts in a mechanical engineering environment
  • Strong technical understanding as well as excellent analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience in leading international teams in a functional capacity and in implementing change processes
  • Solution-oriented handling of conflicts and consistent pursuit of goals
  • Effective team player even under high workload and in stressful situations
  • Openness to intercultural cooperation and global work
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Business-fluent English skills; additional languages are an advantage
