About the role

  • Group Reporting Accountant responsible for timely financial reports and analyses for CFO at global analytics leader. Collaborating with a small team across different countries for effective financial management.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide accurate and timely detailed information for CFO report (primarily on the financial profit and loss account, summary balance sheet and cash flow
  • Assist with the monthly consolidation process in a timely, accurate and controlled manner and distributing reporting communications to the internal stakeholders.
  • Prepares accounting memo for the accounting treatment related to revenue recognition in alignment with IFRS 15.
  • Provide support on adhoc projects that rely on Group Reporting expertise including projects to advance financial system capabilities
  • Dealing satisfactorily with questions and providing speedy and reliable answers.
  • Develop an expert knowledge of the Hyperion financial reporting systems
  • Handles hedge, FX spot deals and analysis of FX on a monthly basis
  • Covers acquisitions, mergers/divisionalisations and disposals of business and/or products.
  • Perform value-in-use valuation for business/products
  • Supports budget and forecast submissions
  • Involved in Purchase Price Allocation preparation and Acquisition memos
  • Assist in file preparation for Investment and impairment review of Capdev Investment projects.
  • Prepare disclosures for Financial Statements.
  • Carry out annual review of Acquired Intangible assets and Goodwill.
  • Manage Group reporting activities considered as with Key SOX control procedures. Ensuring the control is successful in preventing or detecting any material misstatements.
  • Has been part of Elsevier SOX compliance management testing program for 3 years. Independently testing assigned process and documenting the test procedures.
  • Ensuring the control is successful in preventing or detecting any material misstatements.
  • Assist in audit requests and queries Data reconciliation between systems

Requirements

  • Must have degree in Accounting, CPA is preferred.
  • Must have 3-5 years’ work experience.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years supervisory experience.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Experience with major enterprise accounting systems such as Oracle, SAP or PeopleSoft.
  • Experience in medium to large company environment.
  • Experience in business control is a plus
  • Experience in large multinational company preferred
