About the role
- Senior Project Manager leading AI data science projects at RELX. Collaborating across teams to ensure project success and delivery of key objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple high-complexity programs and projects within assigned product portfolios, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and financials are achieved.
- Partner with global Product Management, Engineering, and Data Science teams to drive disciplined execution, while ensuring optimal resource utilization and capacity management.
- Lead and align cross-functional teams across diverse geographies, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and timely delivery.
- Drive organizational transformation by creating transparency, establishing best practices, and embedding accountability across the PMO and partner teams.
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements across the organization to enhance effectiveness and scalability.
- Act as a subject matter expert in AI-related program delivery, representing portfolio status, challenges, and strategies to leadership in multiple formats (written, verbal, presentations).
- Mentor and coach junior project managers, informally lead team members, and contribute to talent acquisition through candidate evaluation and recruitment.
- Lead assigned strategic or special projects that improve operations, process efficiency, or program outcomes across the enterprise.
Requirements
- 12+ years of IT PMO experience
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, finance, business, or equivalent experience required
- Project governance certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) required
- Extensive experience in project/program management, preferably within AI, data science, and/or software engineering domains.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Experienced with coaching and mentoring colleagues to foster growth and professional development.
- Advanced problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues.
- Agile knowledge required.
- Advanced understanding of resource allocation.
- Experience and knowledge of applying LLMs including ChatGPT, GPT 3.5, Claude, Mistral, etc.
- Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant languages for data analysis.
