About the role

  • UI/UX Designer maintaining design systems and collaborating on software applications for standby generators. Contributing to innovation and user experience in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of design systems, participate in collaboration with stakeholders and contribute to larger design projects
  • Collaborate with product owners, product management, service, and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Execute visual design thinking stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
  • Participates in user research & aligning with the larger market needs
  • Provide deliverables, prototypes, and user flows, use cases that directly help drive feature value
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Reports to Director – Marketing, Home Energy
  • Interaction with Sr UXUI Designer, business executive management on NPD or other programs, highlighting progress & risks
  • Frequent contact with UXUI designers, software, engineering, marketing, service, etc.
  • Occasional contact with Legal Department regarding Company policy, patent application, or lawsuits
  • Occasional contact with dealers/installers
  • Occasional contact with external vendors

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, User Design or another related field
  • 1+ years of experience UXUI
  • Proven UI and UX experience
  • Demonstrable UI and UX design skills with portfolio
  • Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
  • Competency in Photoshop, Illustrator, OmniGraffle, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
  • Competency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Up to date with the latest UI and UX trends, techniques, and technologies
