About the role

  • Associate Designer for Creative Services at Red Nucleus in Canada, producing print and digital work under guidance of Art Director in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Art Director or Senior Designers, develop beautiful creative solutions that are on brand.
  • For digital projects, execute designs and develop interactive elements based on wireframes, copy decks and supplied direction with oversight.
  • For print projects, develop materials with proper formatting, bleed, color mode based on the supplied direction with oversight.
  • Capable of developing infographics that convey a narrative through text and imagery
  • Able to communicate and collaborate internally across multiple teams and disciplines to produce deliverables that meet team needs and expectations.
  • Take directions and work closely with the Art Director or Creative Director to execute on their vision for a project.
  • Work closely with the Creative Leads (Creative Director, Art Director and Senior Designer) to ensure an understanding of visual style, and conceptual direction.
  • Provide reasoning behind design decisions and apply feedback in a constructive manner
  • Ensure work always meets deadlines, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Stay current on interactive, design trends and emerging technologies with a hunger to innovate.

Requirements

  • Graduate of post-secondary institution in a related field (Graphic Design, Interactive/Multimedia Design, New Media, Advertising).
  • Education in sciences an asset
  • Any relevant experience in a design studio or marketing agency is a benefit
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with an enthusiasm for pixel-perfect work.
  • An emerging portfolio that exhibits conceptual thinking (both visual and interactive), solid typography skills and an understanding of design principles.
  • Willingness to operate in Mac OS working environment that uses Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Competency in creating slide decks using Microsoft PowerPoint, including templates, graphs, charts and tables.
  • Knowledge and use of Figma as a collaborative design tool is beneficial.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team as well as independently.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and accountable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Ability to understand scientific or medical content is beneficial.
