About the role

  • Principal Software Engineer working on OpenShift Virtualization projects for a globally distributed team at Red Hat. Collaborating with engineering teams and open-source communities to deliver high-quality software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multiple Red Hat engineering teams around the globe.
  • Engage with open-source communities and contribute to technology integration.
  • Deal with Windows guest VMs on Linux hosts to debug and develop features.
  • Play an active role in Container and Virtualization related projects and communities.
  • Develop and enhance existing features for Windows guests.
  • Design, develop and enhance KubeVirt and collaborate with the community using Golang.
  • Responsible for code maintenance and quality by writing unit and functional tests.
  • Work with the Quality Engineering team members for testing assurance.
  • Publicize the team's work through blogs, web postings, or conference talks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with at least one high level language, such as Golang, Python, or C/C++.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and their unique characteristics.
  • Hands-on experience Windows in kernel programming, knowledge of Kernel concepts (control groups and namespaces) is a big plus
  • Good analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
