About the role

  • Senior Buyer, Procurement F&B responsible for sourcing and contracting goods/services for newbuilds and operational projects. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely project completion and supplier agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Procure goods and services for assigned projects such as newbuilds, dry docks, in-service projects, or operational maintenance, etc.
  • Implement a procurement and negotiation strategy based on variables such as price, quality, availability, warranty, project terms and conditions, etc.
  • Performs moderate to complex price analysis while considering total project cost, timing, and customer needs
  • Prepare, negotiate, and execute supplier agreements that meet business requirements
  • Single point of contact for internal customers, ensures that products or services are delivered as needed to ensure successful project completion
  • Lead timely resolution of escalated supplier issues
  • Maintain commercial interface with suppliers
  • Provides guidance to internal customers during budget preparation such as product and service pricing
  • Awareness of compliance requirements of regulatory agencies (DNV, IMO, SOLAS, USPH, US Coast Guard, etc.)
  • Works independently and prioritizes tasks based on projects schedules
  • Performs other duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent job experience
  • Emphasis in project management preferred
  • 5-7 years’ experience in Procurement, Technical, Engineering, Commercial or Project Environment
  • Accreditation from Supply Chain Industry organization (i.e. CPSM, CPIM)
  • Learn/work in multiple systems/tools such as JDE, Databases, Microsoft Office, MS Project, etc.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiating skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Flexibility/adaptability to changing priorities, multiple internal customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment with all levels of internal and external customers
  • Ability to bring teams together to resolve issues and achieve targets and goals
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing and procurement work processes and solutions
  • Sense of ownership and urgency
  • Ability to travel domestic and international, up to 20% of the time
