About the role
- Data Governance Lead overseeing enterprise data catalog initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders for data quality in the Royal Caribbean Group.
Responsibilities
- Lead and administer the enterprise data catalog program by deploying best practices to architect, curate and manage core components: business glossary, technical metadata, and lineage.
- Oversee the operations of the enterprise data catalog and communicate with stakeholders to ensure access and availability of the solution.
- Provide daily support of the data catalog including user administration, tool upgrades and maintenance, and change management.
- Maintain metadata across disparate sources and ETL processes.
- Establish processes and document procedures to curate data assets.
- Provide enterprise training on the enterprise data catalog capabilities.
- Facilitate and collaborate with stakeholders to define enterprise business terms and metrics.
- Develop and publish these metrics to support metadata completeness.
- Configure and maintain templates for managing business and metrics glossary, data dictionary.
- Establish relationships between business and technical assets in the enterprise data catalog.
- Partner with technology resources to enhance the data catalog capabilities and provide visibility across the delta lake (Databricks Unity Catalog) and BI (Power BI) reporting applications.
- Prioritize data sources for ingestion and schemas/tables and drive identification, ownership, and onboarding of priority datasets.
- Ensure development work follows established change management and communication processes.
- Adhere to an Agile iterative approach by identifying features and user stories and orchestrating team ownership to deliver a Minimal Viable Product (MVP).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Information Systems, or related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in application design and implementation.
- 4+ years of experience in data related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Metadata Tools, specifically Collibra Data Intelligence and Informatica CDC.
- Experience designing and maintaining business glossary, data lineage, data relationships, and data stewardship.
- Experience inventorying or cataloging data assets.
- Experience designing data solutions to include taxonomies, technical and business metadata, data classification and sensitivity.
- Experience integrating metadata between platforms.
- Experience implementing workflows and APIs in Collibra Data Intelligence and Informatica CDC.
- Experience with applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with ETL/ELT design and implementations.
